Talking about how to practice holistic well-being might sound like a tall ask. But, I promise to break it down for you. First up, we have to talk about what holistic well-being looks like.
What is holistic well-being?
This is the easier part. We’ve already explained how we view that in this BLOG. For refresher about all the dimensions of wellness, check out our wheel of well-being below.
How do we practice holistic well-being?
If you’ve read any of our blogs, you know that we always preach that everyone has their own path to well-being. What works for you, won’t work for your best friend, and vice versa. With that in mind, we’ve come up with our 3 E’s of Wellness to help you figure out what holistic well-being works for you.
So what are our 3 E’s? We’ll break them down for you.
- Empathy
Life is hard, gravity always wins, and you will always have health problems. Empathy is understanding – that you, and everyone you know is human. They have different bodies, needs, and histories. All of which impacts their wellness journey.
- Education
Research wellness trends and practices. Are your crystals being sourced responsibly? Do you understand the philosophy behind yoga? The wellness industry isn’t concerned with ethics over profit – make sure that you are.
- Experimentation
There is no one-size-fits-all solution to burnout or wellness. Real wellness means you have to try out different practices until you find what works for you. You might have practices that work for you now, that won’t work in a year. That’s life ya’ll
So what does holistic well-being look like to you? Remember to keep the 3 E’s in mind and stay open to different methods for well-being.
